Malaysia nominated to hold the 13th APOCP General Asssembly

The business meeting of the APOCP general assembly was held on 21st Sept. 2024 to nominate the country to host the 13th APOCP general Assembly. Three candid countries were nominated to hold the 13th General Assembly in 2024. Malaysia, with Dr. Bhoo Pathy Nirmala as president of the 13th APOCP, won the nomination of the 13th General Assembly.  The 12th GA conference started with a welcome message from Prof. Kudaibergenova I.O., Rector of I.K. Akhunbaev KSMA, and Prof. Alireza Mosavi Jarrah, the  APOCP’s Executive secretary, and Dr. Nurbeck Igissin, the president of the Conference, followed by an artistic performance of students of  I.K. Akhunbaev KAMS (Kyrkys Academy of Medical Sciences).  The conference lasted two and a half days, and during this time, 15 scientists from 10 countries presented their scientific work and challenges. The conference addressed the following themes: Cancer Epidemiology and Cancer Registration,  Screening, and Early Detection, Breast Cancer Challenges in Central Asia, and GI Cancer in Central Asia.  The general assembly was finalized with a session on the APOCP report and country nomination of the 13th General Assembly. The Report on APOCP’s achievements and challenges was discussed. The fact the West Asia Organization for Cancer Prevention presents its activities. Dr. Nurbeck introduces the APOCP registration as an NGO activity.  There were three countries nominated to hold the 13th General Assembly in 2024.
